Abigail Livny

Dr. Abigail Livny is a neuroscientist, an expert in neuroimaging, and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and the Sagol School of Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University. She serves as the Director of the Clinical Brain Imaging R&D Center (C.BIRD) at Sheba Medical Center. With a clinical foundation rooted in an MA in neuropsychology from the Hebrew University, followed by a PhD in MRI brain imaging from Tel Aviv University, Dr. Livny leads multidisciplinary research tracking brain reorganization following traumatic brain injury and various neuropathologies. Her work utilizes advanced neuroimaging techniques like functional MRI, diffusion-weighted imaging, and connectomics to study the interaction between structural and functional network alterations after neurotrauma, and how they correspond with clinical and cognitive outcomes. Dr. Livny is particularly passionate about bridging the gap between neuroscience and clinical practice, utilizing machine learning models to improve surgical decision support and predict neurological outcomes.

In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Livny is actively involved in the medical technology ecosystem. She is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Sightendo, a medical AI startup dedicated to developing intelligent solutions for neuro-endovascular procedures.
